Suzuki Ignis Sport | Jaguar XJ40 | Audi A2 | Report 002

Yet another 'lifer' car is culled from the fleet, as John sells his pride and joy to facilitate moving up the property ladder

RUNNING COSTS N/A

n a shock move no one saw coming, my beloved Jaguar XJ40 has sadly been sold. Like Craig it was a car I never intended on selling - we’re a stable bunch at RUSH. I’d invested so much time and money into the old girl over the 6 years of ownership, that she became part of the family. A house move however, couldn’t be funded without the proceeds, of which the price I got for it was like being bent over a barrel with my pants down. The consolation is that I used the car as intended and experienced every possible up and down of XJ40 life. The highs of the road trips, the length and breadth of the country and the lows of the breakdowns, it was all worth it.

Onward and upwards though and as I’m sure you’ve read in the RUSH hot hatch war, the rolled Suzuki Ignis Sport has been replaced by a 2008 Nighthawk Black FN2 Honda Civic Type R. A car very much with its own faults but over the coming months, will be transformed into a full blooded track monster. You’ll just have to bear with me on this one as it may take some time. As for the Audi A2, I still hate it and it’s still so cheap to run, it would cost you more walking, so as much as I try to justify selling it for something more RUSH it’s staying.
