Lamborghini Temerario Goes Racing with New GT3 Model

With global competition on the horizon, the Temerario has been extensively modified to take to the racing stage, and be a fitting replacement for the Huracán GT3.

The road-going Temerario may have made its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend with a 10,000rpm run up the hill, but it was roundly upstaged by the reveal of the GT3 variant, set to compete in sprint and endurance championships across the globe.
While using the same 4.0-litre V8 block as its road-going sibling, the racer dispenses with the hybrid systems, and features titanium connecting rods, a redesigned airbox, and new smaller turbochargers for improved response across the rev range. The engine develops 542bhp on its own, before Balance of Performance has its say. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission.

Compared to its predecessor, the Temerario GT3 has a longer wheelbase, and a wider track which improves cornering stability. Six-way adjustable dampers from KW feature on both axles, and a range of racing tyres will envelop the 18” Ronal-supplied wheels. To speed up mid-race repairs, the front and rear subframes feature a quick release design, just like the carbon fibre bodywork.
The car retains the same silhouette as the road car, but features an enlarged front splitter, diveplanes, a bonnet air outlet, new side skirts, an enormous diffuser protruding from the rear bodywork, and a large high-level wing supported by swan-neck mounts. To aid overnight racing, eight additional spotlights are mounted on the nose.

While we’re yet to see the interior, Lamborghini promises new switchgear, data logging capabilities, with an enhanced suite of software and graphics. A brand-new steering wheel is connected to the car’s custom hydraulic steering rack, and the driver is protected by an FIA-approved roll cage.
The Temerario GT3 is set to make its competition debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2026 – a tough challenge for any racer, let alone one being used in anger for the first time. With 96 championships claimed by the Huracán in its decade of racing – including two class wins at the Daytona 24 Hours, and an overall victory at this year’s Spa 24 Hours – the Temerario has quite the record to live up to.
