Lotus has revealed the Emira Clark Edition – a limited-run tribute to Jim Clark’s astonishing 1965 season, in which the Scottish driver won the Formula 1 World Championship, the Indianapolis 500, the Tasman Series and Formula 2 titles. In-between all that, Clark also managed multiple victories in a Lotus Cortina in the British Saloon Car Championship. It is unquestionably the single greatest racing season any driver has ever had.

Just 60 units will be built, one for each year since that unmatched run of victories, as part of an official collaboration with the Jim Clark Trust. The car will make its world debut at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix.

Unlike the recently announced Turbo SE, the Clark Edition is based on the Emira V6. That means a supercharged 3.5-litre unit producing 400bhp, exclusively paired with a six-speed manual and limited-slip differential. The sharper-handling Driver’s Pack comes as standard, bringing sport suspension, Track Mode, and a sports exhaust. Hydraulic steering and a relatively low kerb weight continue to define the Emira’s appeal.

Cosmetically, the car draws directly from Clark’s 1965 Indy 500-winning Lotus Type 38. Finished in Clark Racing Green, it features a contrasting black roof, silver mirrors, and a yellow centre stripe flared around the nose. A hand-painted yellow pinstripe traces the swage line, while yellow-painted exhaust tips and a machined aluminium fuel filler cap with a blue anodised centre are further visual cues. The Clark Edition door graphics also pay tribute to period team liveries.

Inside, the asymmetrical seats reference Clark’s race cars of the time: red Alcantara and leather for the driver, black for the passenger. A 1960s-style wood-topped gear knob, Team Lotus embroidery, and Clark’s signature on the dash complement the nostalgia. A tartan-badged Jim Clark logo, inspired by his personalised Scottish tartan, appears throughout. Each car receives numbered carbon fibre treadplates and a hand-crafted leather holdall to match.

The 60-car run will be offered to select global markets, with UK pricing set at £115,000. Lotus hasn’t confirmed how many will remain on home soil, but for collectors and Clark devotees, it’s a considered, tasteful homage – complete with a driver-focused spec the great man would likely have approved of.
