Following the MC20 facelift which gave birth to the MCPura, Maserati has refreshed the rest of its model range with updated GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale models. The sports car twins retain their petrol-electric offerings, with two flavours of Nettuno V6 engines available. Entry-level GranTurismo and GranCabrios offer the same 482bhp and 361lb-ft (490Nm) as before, but the Trofeo receives a 40bhp power bump. The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged unit now delivers 582bhp, with torque remaining unchanged at 479lb-ft (650Nm). All V6 models feature cylinder deactivation, all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission, with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential reserved for the Trofeo.

The electric Folgore models utilise a tri-motor drivetrain developing 751bhp and 996lb-ft (1,350Nm) of torque in normal use, with overboost briefly raising this to 818bhp. With a pair of motors on the rear axle, precise torque vectoring is employed to enhance agility. The T-shaped 92.4kWh capacity battery is carried over from the previous model, but a revised energy management algorithm promises an extra 56 miles of WLTP range, rising to 336 miles.

With its 800-volt electrical architecture, the electric variants can recharge from 20-80% in just 18 minutes. The GranTurismo Folgore Coupé boasts a top speed of 202mph, while the 180mph-capable GranCabrio remains the fastest electric convertible on sale today. Although much of the hardware remains the same, styling changes have been made outside and in. A new front grille and bumper design takes inspiration from the MCPura, with a revised splitter increasing front downforce. Clear lenses feature on the rear lights, and different diffuser designs appear depending on the model variant. All models feature staggered 20” front and 21” rear wheels, with the new Tridente alloys increasing the track width by 10mm all round.

The cabin gets a revised steering wheel with flat upper and lower sections, dark aluminium spokes, and a choice of perforated leather or Alcantara inserts. New graphics feature on the trio of digital displays, and the central clock sits within an octagonal housing. When switching drive modes, the new setting will briefly appear on the digital clock’s display. Elsewhere, a new metal gear selector is introduced, and new upholstery options are available. BottegaFurioserie customisation options are available for all models, ranging from personalised interiors to one-off design themes for the cabin and exterior.

The updated sports cars are available to configure and order now, and usher in a repositioning of the model line-ups. The entry-level GranTurismo and GranCabrio start from £127,920 and £136,920 respectively, with the Trofeo variants moving to the top of the model range, commanding a £23,760 premium. The fully electric Folgore models are repositioned as the mid-point of the product offering, following a price cut of £50,345. The GranTurismo Folgore now starts at £129,605, with its soft-top twin costing from £138,605.

Also getting an update is the Grecale – Maserati’s sole SUV offering. The MCPura-inspired grille is found at the nose of all new models, sitting atop a revised front splitter and enlarged side air intakes. Two new alloy wheel designs – Asteria and Crono – join the range in 20” and 21” diameters respectively, alongside a revamped interior.

As is the case with the GranTurismo and GranCabrio, a lack of interior launch imagery means the cabin is only viewable via Maserati’s brand new configurator. A new octagonal steering wheel mirrors the shape of the central digital clock, and is available with perforated leather or Alcantara. Leather upholstery is complemented by wood or carbon fibre trim depending on the model variant.

The Porsche Macan rival offers two four-cylinder powertrains, with 296bhp as standard and 325bhp as the Grecale Modena. Peak torque is identical across both mild-hybrid models at 332lb-ft (450Nm), with 0-62mph dispatched in 5.6 and 5.3 seconds respectively.

The Trofeo keeps its 542bhp Nettuno engine, and is joined by a Modena V6 variant which sits between the four-cylinder entry-models and the range-topper. The Grecale Modena V6 delivers 387bhp and 369lb-ft (500Nm), reaches 62mph from rest in 5.1 seconds and hits a top speed of 160mph. The Folgore continues to offer 542bhp and 605lb-ft (800Nm) from its pair of electric motors, and a 105kWh capacity battery between the wheels. With improved aerodynamic elements and an active grille, the Grecale EV can now achieve 360 WLTP miles between charges.

Pricing for the updated Grecale starts at £60,290, rising to £106,045 for the Trofeo. The Folgore’s list price has been slashed by £10,550 and now begins from £88,615. Pricing is yet to be confirmed for the Modena V6, but is expected to be close to that of the electric Grecale.
