Following its launch in coupé guise, the limited-run Fenomeno has gained a roadster variant. Creating the open-top model required more than just the removal of the roof panel, with Lamborghini modifying the car’s aerodynamics to include a spoiler on the windscreen surround, deflecting air over the cabin towards the 6.5-litre V12’s air intakes, which are mounted lower and further back than before. A V-shaped channel stems from the base of the two roll hoops, which themselves are designed to minimise turbulence when driving at speed.

Elsewhere, a revised floor has been fitted and the active rear wing system has been modified, with Lamborghini claiming the Fenomeno Roadster matches the downforce, stability and balance of the coupé. While many modern supercars are designed to a ‘form follows function’ approach, the Centro Stile team clearly favour a ‘flair follows function’ ethos. Both flaps for the fuel filler and charging port are hexagonal, and a close look at the Y-shaped tail lights reveals a multitude of Y-shaped markings.

These markings appear throughout the flamboyant interior, which itself is a dramatic environment framed by exposed carbon fibre and presenting geometric components at every opportunity. Unique graphics feature on all three of the Fenomeno’s digital displays, with the central infotainment system flanked by a display for the driver and passenger. Fighter jet-inspired switchgear is found throughout the cabin, with the engine start button protected by a red guard that must be flicked up before activation – just like a missile launch trigger.

As with the coupé, the roadster is powered by a V12 plug-in hybrid powertrain delivering 1,065bhp and 793lb-ft (1,075Nm) of torque combined, making the Fenomeno the most powerful Lamborghini made to date. Compared to the Revuelto, the engine gets a new valvetrain that liberates an additional 19bhp and allows for a 9,500rpm rev limit. The 6.5-litre engine makes 837bhp and 535lb-ft (725Nm) on its own, and is augmented by a trio of electric motors to generate its peak output.

The tri-motor layout is made up of one motor at the rear, and two axial-flux units up front – one for each wheel. These develop 148bhp and 258lb-ft (350Nm) each, and allow for precise torque vectoring across the front axle. All three motors draw their power from a 7kWh T-shaped battery nestled between the seats, which can be topped through regenerative braking, direct drive from the engine, or a mains connection.

With an 84% capacity increase over the Revuelto’s battery, the Fenomeno can manage 12 miles of electric-only driving or augment the V12 for longer. With all powertrain systems working in unison the Roadster takes 2.4 seconds to hit 62mph from rest, and just 6.8 seconds to reach 124mph from a standing start. No exact top speed is quoted, but the car is capable of exceeding 211mph.

Grip comes courtesy of bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres developed specifically for the Fenomeno. These measure 265/30 R21 and 355/25 R22 at the front and rear respectively, with a run-flat option for road use, and a semi-slick variant available for track use. Carbon ceramic brakes and adjustable dampers are found behind the rims, and the car makes use of a 6D sensor to manage its driving dynamics in real time.

The Fenomeno Roadster is the latest instalment in Lamborghini's few-off flagship supercar series. As with its predecessors – the Reventon, Veneno, Centenario, and Sián FKP37 – the Fenomeno serves as a preview for styling features and drivetrain technologies that will make their way across the wider model range in the coming years.

Only 15 examples will be built, making it twice as rare as the coupé. Pricing has yet to be revealed, but we expect a healthy uplift over the £2.58 million required for its fixed-roof counterpart before customisation. Production is projected to commence at the tail end of 2026.
