All models use a 100kWh battery, offering a 391-mile WLTP range in the Rear Motor variant – an increase of six miles over the 4 Coupé, despite a 35kg increase in kerb weight. The entry-level powertrain produces 268bhp and 253lb ft (343Nm), reaching 62mph from rest in 7.3 seconds. The Dual Motor doubles those outputs to 536bhp and 506lb ft (686Nm), cutting the 0–62mph time to 3.9 seconds while reducing the maximum range to 373 miles.

The optional Performance Pack adds enlarged ventilated brake discs, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, and bespoke ZF adaptive dampers with three levels of firmness. Gold four-piston Brembo front callipers and 22-inch multi-spoke wheels wrapped in Polestar-specific Pirelli P Zero tyres make the Performance Pack easy to spot. As part of the 2027 model-year update, all variants also get polyurethane bump stops and a revised suspension tune intended to improve ride comfort.
Inside, rear-seat passengers benefit from an extra inch of headroom, while the driver gets a new steering wheel with dedicated shortcut buttons to improve usability. The infotainment system now incorporates Google’s Gemini AI voice assistant, and drivers can add more customisable widgets to the 15.4-inch display.

As the more practical of the two, the 4 SUV offers 530 litres of boot space, rising to 655 litres when loaded to the roof and 1,665 litres with the rear bench lowered. There’s also room to store charging cables under the bonnet in a 15-litre compartment. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability allows the car to power external devices through a dedicated 230V adapter, while Camping Mode lets the air conditioning run for extended periods when stationary.
Every Polestar 4 SUV comes with electrically adjustable heated front seats, smartphone mirroring, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, and a powered tailgate as standard. Two option packs are available: Business and Prime. The former adds lane change assist, rear privacy glass, and a heated steering wheel, while the latter features Pixel adaptive LED headlights, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, and hands-free access to the boot.

There’s a choice of eight exterior colours, four alloy wheel designs, three fabric upholstery options, and two Bridge of Weir nappa leather colours: black or white. The new model is on sale now, priced from £54,750 in Rear Motor form. The Dual Motor costs £60,750, rising to £68,250 with the Performance Pack.
Production has begun at Polestar’s Busan plant in South Korea, and we’ve already seen the new model up close at its UK public debut at Salon Privé. The first customer deliveries are expected in the final quarter of 2026.
